Ata Can Bertay is a co-founder and the Chief Economist of Telescope Labs working on economic modeling of web3 games. He is also a professor of finance at Sabanci Business School. Previously, he was a Research Economist at the World Bank's Development Economics Research Group leading the Global Financial Development Report, a World Bank flagship report on financial development. His research interests include international finance, financial economics, and macrofinance. He received his Ph.D. and MSc. degrees in Economics from Tilburg University, the Netherlands, and B.A. again in Economics from Bogazici University, Turkey.
